   Happy New Year! As we embark upon a new year - a time of fresh starts and new beginnings - its time to embrace a new business plan for the year. This year its all about mobile. Mobile phones, mobile money and mobile transacting are where its happening in the electronic transaction industry and, yes, it seems as if 2012 is the year it will finally BE happening in the U.S. market.
   In this issue, entitled, The Mobile Revolution, we bring you updates about Google Wallet, NFC mCommerce and a unique perspective from what our European peers are doing with mobile. We’d be remiss if we didn’t touch upon the potential impact of the Occupy Movement on our industry - in this, an election year, in particular. Having recently felt the impact of legislation, such as the Durbin Amendment, we as an industry must be more vigilant in watching what our lawmakers are talking about. We must takes steps to educate them and inform them about our niche in the payments industry and make them aware of the impacts their decisions have on our businesses. Let that be an important strategy item for us all in 2012.
